    The Thursday edition of Athens' dailies at a glance

    The wildfires throughout the country, the planned regulations for the Liberal Studies Centers (KES, or franchise colleges) and reactions, and political party finances were the main front-page items in Thursday's dailies.

    ADESMEFTOS TYPOS: "Athens in a flaming vise - 158 wildfires broke out in a space of 24 hours throughout the country".

    APOGEVMATINI: "Generous social measures for working people - Government's strong sensitivity in times of difficulty for all the peoples - The program affects 16,000 families, 2,000 more than last year".

    AVGHI: "Wave of dismissals - 2,000 workers on the threshold of unemployment".

    AVRIANI: "SDOE (financial crimes team) audits on political parties' finances - The impunity, with the taxpayers' money at that, must cease".

    CHORA: "Alert over the economy - Scenarios on taxes and the social package - Premier to meet today with (economy and finance minister) Alogoskoufis".
