    Callas tribute exhibition in Trieste

A major exhibition titled "Maria Callas, 30 years after", is being organised by the Hellenic Parliament Foundation for Parliamentarianism and Democracy at the Palazzo Gopchevich in Trieste, Italy, which will be inaugurated on July 4 by parliament and Foundation president Dimitris Sioufas.

The exhibition, being organised in cooperation with the Municipality of Trieste and the Hellenic Foundation for Culture (HFC), was first organised and presented by the Hellenic Parliament Foundation following the declaration of 2007 as the Year of Maria Callas, marking the 30th anniversary of the internationally-acclaimed Greek opera diva's death.

The tribute exhibition highlights Callas' artistic personality as well as her Greek and international career, through a display of photographs from the coloratura soprano's performances in opera houses throughout the world, costumes designed by renowned Greek painter Yiannis Tsarouchis, and Callas' personal objects.
