[01] Medieval Greek volume by Cambridge
A tome detailing the grammar of medieval Greek (1100-1700) will be
published in 2010 within the framework of a University of Cambridge
research programme, headed by faculty of medieval and modern languages
at the renowned British institution. The programme, which was launched
in 2004 and is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, aims
at quantifying medieval Greek, which constitutes the evolution between
the language of the New Testament Gospels and modern Greek, thereby
creating a tool useful for scholars studying texts dating back to that
period. The 1,000-page volume will analyse medieval Greek in terms of
phonology, morphology and syntax.
