Trade unions representing physicians, lawyers, engineers, pharmacists and media staff, both journalists and administrative employees, have declared another nationwide 24-hour for Wednesday, reacting to the planned unification of social security funds.

On Thursday, a three-hour work stoppage will be held.

ANA-MPA news services will be off-line between 6 a.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday, and from 12 noon to 3 p.m. on Thursday, in participation in the 24-hour strike on Wednesday and a three-hour work-stoppage on Thursday in the media sector.

A rally is planned at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in central Athens.
