[01] Gov't Council for Foreign Affairs and Defence convenes Tuesday
The Government Council for Foreign Affairs and Defence (KYSEA) will
convene on Tuesday morning under the chairmanship of Prime Minister
Costas Karamanlis on the issue of the approval of the unified long-term
programme for the development and modernisation of the Armed Forces,
for the 2006-2010 period. Later in the day, the Inner Cabinet will
convene and immediately afterwards the Ministerial Council, which will
deal, among other things, with the country's tourism development with
Tourism Development Minister Fani Palli-Petralia as rapporteur.
[02] 'Rodos' transports aid to Beirut
Another 12,000 foreign nationals and Lebanese refugees were transported
from Beirut from Friday night until 9 a.m. Saturday to Cyprus' ports of
Larnaca and Limassol. At the same time, the Greek carrier "Rodos"
sailed into the port of Beirut on Saturday morning, transporting 14
tonnes of pharmaceutical material from Greece and four tonnes from
Cyprus.
