[01] Papandreou visits seniors' centre and family shelter
Main opposition PASOK leader George Papandreou on Friday visited a
senior citizens' activity and support centre, known by the
Greek-language acronym "KAPI", in the working-class Tavros municipality
of Athens on the occasion of the Christmas holidays.
A group of seniors at the centre sang Christmas carols for the former
foreign minister, while local government officials touched on the issue
of funding of such services.
Afterwards, Papandreou and his wife, Ada, visited a support centre in
the Metaxourgeio district for Rom (gypsy) children and families from
the border Thrace region.
