Queen Rania al-Abdullah of Jordan, who has accompanied the King Abdallah II on an official visit to Greece, was shown around many of the Greek capital's best known sites on Thursday by the prime minister's wife, Natasa Karamanlis.

Their tour was conducted mainly on foot, starting at the pedestrian walkway on Dionysiou Areopagitou street with stops along the way at archaeological sites such as the Herod Atticus Odeon, the Stoa of Attalos and the museum at ancient Athens' Agora.

The two first ladies, who were also accompanied by the wife of the Jordanian ambassador to Athens, then walked through the Monastiraki flea market district at the foot of the Acropolis before departing for an unscheduled visit to the Benaki Museum's Pireos Street annex, where an exhibition on Islamic Culture is currently on display.
