[01] Belgian takes first prize at Film Festival
A film by 27-year-old Belgian director Fien Troch on Sunday took the
Golden Alexander Award for best picture at the 46th annual Thessaloniki
Film Festival, as her Belgian-Dutch co-production "Ander zijn geluk,
Een" (Someone Else's Happiness) also picked up the awards for best
scenario and best newcomer actress.
The Silver Alexander Award was given to Mexican director Amat
Escalante's "Sangre" (Blood).
The award for best director was shared by Hungarian Roland Vranik for
his "Fekete Kefe" (Black Brush) and French director Emmanuelle Bercot's
Franco-German production "Backstage".
