[01] Three minutes of silence in honour of Madrid victims

The Athens News Agency (ANA), will observe three minutes of silence on 2:00 p.m. in a tribute to the victims of last week's concerted terrorist attacks in Madrid, in response to a call by the prime minister of Ireland, current holder of the rotating EU presidency, and of government spokesman Theodoros Roussopoulos.

The Irish prime minister called for an EU-wide observance of three-minutes of silence, a call that was echoed by interior minister Prokopis Pavlopoulos in memory of the "innocent victims of the March 11 terrorist attack in Madrid", and in a symbolic act of "condemnation of terrorism as a brutal criminal action against humanity".

Το Αθηναϊκό Πρακτορείο Ειδήσεων ανταποκρινόμενο στην έκκληση της Ευρωπαϊκής Προεδρίας αλλά και στην ανακοίνωση του υπουργού Επικρατείας και Κυβερνητικού Εκπροσώπου Θεόδωρου Ρουσσόπουλου θα τηρήσει τριών λεπτών σιγή στις 14.00 (ώρα Αθήνας) ως ελάχιστο φόρο τιμής στα θύματα των τρομοκρατικών επιθέσεων στη Μαδρίτη.

H Ελλάδα ανταποκρίθηκε στην έκκληση του Ιρλανδού πρωθυπουργού, του οποίου η χώρα ασκεί την Προεδρία της Ευρωπαϊκής Ενωσης, να τηρηθεί σήμερα το μεσημέρι τριών λεπτών σιγή σε ολόκληρη την Ευρωπαϊκή Ενωση.

Με σχετική εγκύκλιό του ο υπουργός Εσωτερικών, Δημόσιας Διοίκησης και Αποκέντρωσης Προκόπης Παυλόπουλος ζήτησε να τηρηθεί τριών λεπτών σιγή στις 14.00 ''για την απότιση ελάχιστου φόρου τιμής στα αθώα θύματα της αποτρόπαιης τρομοκρατικής επίθεσης της 11ης Μαρτίου στη Μαδρίτη και για τη συμβολική καταδίκη της τρομοκρατίας, ως στυγερής εγκληματικής ενέργειας που στρέφεται κατά της ανθρωπότητας''.
