The Olympic Torch will be lit at Ancient Olympia on March 25.

The lighting of the Olympic Torch was the focus of discussion during a working meeting on Friday between Alternate Culture Minister Fani Pali-Petralia, Deputy Culture Minister Petros Tatoulis, outgoing Olympic Games General Secretary Costas Kartalis, Greek Olympic Committee (EOE) President Lambis Nikolaou and former Culture Ministry general secretary Lina Mendoni.

Pali-Petralia expressed the conviction that there would be good cooperation for things to go smoothly, while Tatoulis will visit Ancient Olympia to get a detailed briefing and to inspect works which have been carried out by the Culture Ministry.

Tatoulis noted that the Olympic Torch will be handed to Athens 2004 Olympic Organising Committee (ATHOC) President Gianna Angelopoulos-Daskalaki during a ceremony at the Panathenian Stadium on March 31.
