Mainly sunny weather is forecast in most parts of the country with scattered cloud in the north and west. Showers are likely in the northwest. Winds westerly, light to moderate, turning strong in the south. Temperatures to remain steady, with a minimum of 05C and maximum of 16C in Athens; and in Thessaloniki, 03C to 13C.

[03] Athens Bourse Close: Stocks slip in hesitant trade

The Athens bourse finished lower on Friday with traders hesitating to make new placements due to uncertainty in European markets.

The general share index shed 0.33 percent to end at 2,187.24 points. Turnover was 132.4 million euros.

The FTSE/ASE-20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks ended 0.32 percent down; the FTSE/ASE-40 for medium capitalisation paper 0.41 percent lower; and the FTSE/ASE-80 for small cap equities finished with losses of 0.88 percent.

Of stocks traded, declines led advances at 204 to 92 with 64 issues remaining unchanged.

On a weekly basis, the general share index gained 0.79 percent.
