[01] Athens Stock Exchange opening: Small decline

Equities were declining at the opening of the trading session Tuesday on the Athens Stock Exchange, with the general share price index down 0.43 per cent at 11:35 a.m., standing at 2,181.48 points, and turnover at 31.1 million euro.

Individual sector indices were moving mostly downward, with gains in Textiles, up 0.91 percent; IT Solutions, up 0.19 percent; and Participations, up 0.04 percent; and the biggest losses in Publishing, down 1.37 percent; and Wholesale, down 1.10 percent.

The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was down 0.29 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was down 0.46 percent, and the FTSE/ASE SmallCap 80 index was down 0.29 percent.

Of the stocks moved, 129 were up, 147 were down, and 57 were unchanged.

[02] Weather Forecast: Hot and sunny on Tuesday

Hot, sunny weather is forecast all parts of the country. Winds north-northeasterly, light to strong, turning very strong in the Aegean. On the mainland, temperatures will range from 18C to 34C; and in the islands from 22C to 32C. Temperatures in Athens between 24C and 33C; and in Thessaloniki from 22C to 32C.
