[01] Greek PM arrives in Tokyo for official visit

Prime Minister Costas Simitis on Sunday arrived in Tokyo, Japan for an official visit to the Far Eastern Asian country.

On Monday the Greek premier will visit with Emperor of Japan Akihito, while he will hold talks with his counterpart Junichiro Koizumi and will sign and agreement for a joint action plan of Greece and Japan.

The Greek premier is expected to address a forum of the External Trade of Japan.

Simitis is accompanied by Press and Mass Media Minister Christos Protopapas and Alternate Foreign Minister Tassos Yiannitsis, as well as by a team of Greek businessmen and bankers.

[02] Greek FM to receive Russian FM envoy on Monday in Athens

Foreign Minister George Papandreou will meet with Russian Federation Foreign Ministry special envoy for S.E. Europe Vladimir Chizhov, in Athens on Monday.

Sunny on Monday in most parts of the country, with scattered cloud in the west and north. Winds south, southwesterly, light to moderate. In the north, temperatures will range from 7C to 21C; on the rest of the mainland from 9C to 24C; and in the islands from 11C to 20C. Sunshine in Athens with temperatures between 9C and 23C. Scattered cloud in Thessaloniki with temperatures from 7C to 20C.
