Scattered cloud with sunny spells are forecast in many parts of the country on Tuesday, with the west and north likely to see some showers or storms. Winds southwesterly, moderate, turning strong in parts of the south. In the north, temperatures will range from 15C to 27C; in the west from 18C to 29C; and in the rest of the country from 17C to 31C. Scattered cloud in Athens, and possibly a shower or storm, with temperatures between 18C and 29C. Light cloud over Thessaloniki turning to a shower or storm with temperatures from 14C to 27C.

[03] Athens Stock Exchange opening: Rebound

Equity prices rebounded at the opening of trading Tuesday on the Athens Stock Exchange, with the general index up 1.57 percent at 2,576.69 points and turnover at 22.3 million euro, or 7.6 billion drachma.

Individual sector indices were moving upward across the board, with the biggest gains in Participations, up 3.05 percent, Publications, up 2.86 percent, Textiles, up 2.86 percent, and Informatics Products and Solutions, up 2.46 percent.

The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavy traded stocks was up 1.47 percent, the FTSE/ASE 40 index was up 1.59 percent, and the FTSE/ASE SMALLCAP 80 index was up 1.83 percent.

Of the stocks moved, 225 were up, 28 were down και 23 were unchanged.
