[01] Athens Stock Exchange opening: stocks rising

Equities were rising at the opening of trade Tuesday on the Athens Stock Exchange, with the general index up 0.74 percent at 2,706.98 points and turnover at 6.7 million euro.

Individual sector indices were mostly moving up with the biggest gains in information technology, up 1.92 per cent. The biggest losses were in the insurance index, down 0.22 per cent.

The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was up 0.57 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was up 0.58 percent, and the FTSE/ASE SMALLCAP index was up 0.63 percent.

Of the stocks moved, 184 were up, 49 were down and 23 were unchanged.

[02] Weather Forecast: Sunny on Tuesday

Sunshine is forecast in all parts of the country on Tuesday with scattered cloud in the central and northern mainland from evening that may lead to storms on high ground. Winds northerly, light to moderate. On the northern mainland, temperatures will range from 18C to 35C; on the rest of the mainland from 20C to 37C; and in the islands from 22C to 33C. In Athens, the weather will be sunny, with temperatures between 24C and 37C. Mostly sunny in Thessaloniki, with a storm likely from evening. Temperatures from 23C to 35C.
