    Cosmote, a listed mobile operator, and Virgin Megastores launched an internet CD sales shop, CosmoMegastores SA, offering more than 10,000 music titles, interviews and other information.

    The internet music shop (www.virginmega.gr) was created by Intrasoft using the e-commerce applications platform Enfinity by Intershop.

    [02] Seismic faults-Egion-Study

    The seismic faults in the wider region of Egion will be studied and charted under a research programme being carried out by team of Greek and French seismologists, it was announced Thursday.

    The research programme, expected to last about a month, is being conducted by a team of scientists from the Seismology Laboratory of the University of Patras and a group of French seismologists.

    During the study, artificial tremors of minor magnitudes will be induced, which will not be felt in the region.

    A 15-year-old American girl reported missing in Florida several months ago after apparently being lured to Greece by a German man she met on the Internet has been found in Thessaloniki, police said Thursday.

    They said Lindsay Erin Shamrock was found late Wednesday night in an apartment in Thessaloniki, and was taken to the local security police offices until procedures for her return to her family were completed.

    Police said they had not located 35-year-old Franz Konstantin Baehring, a German national who has been residing in Thessaloniki for several years, who is accused of luring the minor to Greece after meeting her on the Internet from her hometown of Mulberry, some 65 kilometres east of Tampa. An arrest warrant has been issued for Baehring in Florida on charges of interfering with parental custody, which Greek authorities have said they will honour.

    Greece on Thursday expressed concern over the ongoing attacks by Albanian extremists in southern Serbia and the Kosovo town of Mitrovica, and called on the international community to take immediate steps to end the violence.

    The body of an unidentified man, in a state of "advanced decomposition", washed ashore on the coastal area of Lachanias on the island of Rhodes, harbour authorities said Thursday.

    They said the body, which was recovered Wednesday by Rhodes central harbour authority officers, was dressed in black slacks, a green shirt and black jacket, and two Arab coins were found in the pockets.
