Greece's industrial production index (including mining, manufacturing
and electricity-natural gas figures) jumped 6.2 percent in May for a
7.99 percent increased in the January-May period compared with the same
period last year, National Statistics Service said on Friday.
The mining production index increased 14.4 percent in the month, the
manufacturing index rose 4.3 percent and the electricit-natural gas
index was 11.5 percent higher in May.
The mining index was 14.04 percent higher in the first five months of
2000, the manufacturing index rose 5.35 percent and the
electricity-natural gas index increased 14.97 percent.
