    Greece's Union of Institutional Investors on Wednesday launched a campaign to inform investors over the operation of a mutual funds market in the country.

    The union has published an information leaflet, to be offered the mutual funds' investors, explaining in detail all the advantages of the market, its categories and their characteristics.

    A union announcement said that the information campaign was aiming to help investors in selecting the category of mutual fund that responded better to their investment strategies.

    Five Swiss nationals were being held hostage aboard a small yacht early Tuesday off the seaside town of Tolo near Nafplion, police said.

    According to early reports, an armed man boarded the yacht "Erato" at around 6:00 a.m. and demanded to be taken to Kasablanca.

    Police said the armed man was a foreigner, but no further details were available. The names of the Swiss nationals were also not released.

    Teams of coast guard scuba divers were on alert nearby.

    [03] Earthquake

    A moderate earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale rattled the southern Peloponnese late Tuesday, causing minor damages to several old structures but no injuries.

    According to the Athens Observatory's Geodynamic Institute, the quake struck shortly before 11:00 p.m. with its epicentre 30 kilometres north of Kalamata, near the town of Meligala.

    The quake was also felt in the prefectures of Ileia and Arcadia.
