    Greece's national men's tennis team on Saturday beat Norway in the doubles in the second round of the 2nd division of the Euro-African Zone of the Davis Cup being held in Athens.

    Costas Economidis and Tassos Vassiliadis beat Stian Boretti and Helke Kohl by 3-0 sets (6-3, 6-1, 6-2). Greece is now leading Norway by 2-1.

    The matches will be concluded on Sunday with Solon Peppas playing against Yian Fronte-Andersen and Vassilis Mazarakis against Kohl.

    If the Greek team defeats Norway it will play gainst the winner of the Slovenia-Poland match for a place in the first division for the first time in its history.

    On Friday, Peppas beat Kohl by 3-0 sets (6-4, 6-4, 6-3) and Andersen overcame Mazarakis by 3-2 sets (6-3, 6-4, 6-7, 2-6, 6-4).

    Fair weather is forecast in most of the country on Sunday. Scattered cloud in mainland northern Greece from the afternoon.

    Winds will be northerly, light to moderate, turning strong in the Aegean. In the north, temperatures will range from 15C to 31C; on the rest of the mainland from 18C to 34C; and in the islands from 20C to 29C.

    Fair weather in Athens with temperatures between 22C and 33C. Cloudy from the afternoon in Thessaloniki, with temperatures ranging from 18C to 30C.
