MOSCOW (ANA) Greek Defence Minister Akis Tsohatzopoulos on Saturday reiterated his support for a NATO expansion into SE Europe, saying Greece has eagerly backed membership for Romania, Bulgaria and Slovenia.

Tsohatzopoulos made the remarks following the conclusion of his three-day official visit to Moscow, complete with talks with new Russian leader Vladimir Putin and his counterpart Igor Sergeevic.

The Greek minister cited still-simmering conflicts in the Balkans and the associated security concerns as a primary reason why the alliance should expand in the region.
