    National economy and finance minister Yannos Papantoniou on Monday called on Greek business enterprises to "open up their horizons" and seek new formats for cooperation.

    Greece was entering a new era, in which a particularly auspicious environment was developing for collaboration and strategic alliances between Greek and foreign enterprises, Papantoniou told the opening session of a day-seminar on strategic alliances between Greek and foreign firms organised by the Hellenic Centre for Investments (ELKE) at a central Athens hotel.

    A German national was arrested in the western Greek port of Patras as he tried to smuggle eight illegal immigrants in his trailer to Italy by ferry, police said Monday.

    [03] Tremor-Patras

    A weak tremor measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale was recorded early Monday in the sea region in the Gulf of Patras.

    The Patras University's Seismology Laboratory said the tremor was recorded at 4:43 a.m., with its epicentre in the Patras Gulf and coming from a depth of 20 kilometres.
