The new government of prime minister Costas Simitis was sworn in
Thursday, after the ruling PASOK party emerged the winner in Sunday's
general elections.
Archbishop Christodoulos of Athens and All Greece officiated at the
ceremony, which took place in the presence of President of the Republic
Costis Stephanopoulos.
After the ceremony, the new Cabinet held its first meeting.
