KARADZICHFormer Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karatzich could be planning to go to a monastery in Mount Athos in northern Greece.Karatzich has been charged with war crimes by the international court, which wants him arrested. He has not been seen in public since September. But this week, Antenna reporter Evthimios Georgiou produced evidence suggesting Karatzich intends to make his court deposition from Athos, via Satellite. SIMITISThe French News Agency received confirmation from the monks at Hiliadari that they are preparing for a visit from Karadzich and Mlandich. Father Vassilios told the French they've built two houses for the men.Greek premier Kostas Simitis took part in the European Union Socialists' congress in Budapest last weekend. Socialists from eastern European countries also participated. NDNew Democracy's parliamentary group meeting became another forum for a clash between pary leader Miltiades Evert and those who want him to step down.Evert said at the Thursday meeting that he won't tolerate members generating internal discord over the leadership issue between now and the party congress next June. His main opponent, Giorgos Souflias, responded to that, openly challenging Evert's leadership. IAKOVOSThe man who headed the Greek Orthodox Church in the Americas for 37 years says he's not optimistic about the prospects for Greece on a number of key foreign policy issues.In an interview with Antenna, former archbishop of the Americas Iakovos says he doesn't have much hope that the Turkish occupation of northern Cyprus is going to end. OXI DAYMonday marked a red-letter date in Greek history. October 28th 1940 was the day when Greece said "oxi", or "no", to Italy's demand for an unconditional surrender.Taking up arms against Mussolini, Greece repelled the Italian invasion force.
