[01] La Commission autorise la France à soutenir un projet de R&D de
Eurocopter à hauteur de €100 millions pour un nouvel hélicoptère franco-
chinois
La Commission européenne a approuvé, selon les règles du Traité CE en
matière d'aides d'Etat, une mesure de soutien à la R&D de €100 millions
proposée par les autorités françaises en faveur de Eurocopter, filiale
de EADS. Le projet vise à développer, dans le contexte d'une coopération
franco-chinoise, un nouvel hélicoptère de taille moyenne, appelé EC175.
La Commission considère que le projet respecte les critères de
l'encadrement communautaire des aides d'Etat à la recherche et au
développement et peut donc être déclaré compatible avec le Traité CE
(Article 87).
[02] Commission clears acquisition of by Avancis by Shell and Saint-Gobain
The European Commission has granted clearance under the EU Merger
Regulation to the acquisition of joint control of Avancis GmbH of Germany
by Shell Erneuerbare Energien GmbH (Shell) of Germany, belonging to the
Shell Group, and Saint-Gobain Glass Deutschland GmbH (Saint-Gobain), also
of Germany. Shell researchs, develops and manufactures equipment in the
field of solar photovoltaic energy and wind energy. Saint-Gobain produces
and sells different kinds of raw float glass. Avancis produces and sells
photovoltaic solar modules. The operation was examined under the simplified
merger review procedure.
[03] Sécurité en mer : l'Agence européenne pour la sécurité maritime
s'installe à Lisbonne
L'installation à Lisbonne de l'Agence européenne pour la sécurité
maritime (AESM) a été célébrée aujourd'hui avec l'inauguration de son
siège en présence du Premier Ministre du Portugal, José Sócrates
Carvalho Pinto de Sousa, du président de la Commission européenne, José
Manuel Barroso et de son vice-président en charge des transports, Jacques
Barrot. L'AESM a pour mission de fournir des conseils techniques et
scientifiques à la Commission et aux Etats membres afin de garantir un
niveau uniformément élevé de sûreté et de sécurité maritimes, de
manière à prévenir les accidents et la pollution en mer.
[04] Andris Piebalgs presents a car that can drive 2,885 Km on one litre of
fuel
European Energy Commissioner Andris Piebalgs will unveil today le
"Microjoule", an ethanol-powered vehicle engineered by French students.
This prototype was the winner of the European Shell Eco-marathon last May,
and is capable of driving around 2,885 km on the equivalent of 1 litre of
fuel. The winner of the Shell Eco-Marathon will be unveiled one week before
the adoption of the Commission's Action Plan on Energy Efficiency, which is
scheduled for 20 September. "This project illustrates the important role
that transport can play in reaching 20% savings of Europe's energy by 2020,
the main objective of the action plan", said Commissioner Piebalgs. The
presentation of the "Microjule" will take place at 12h30 in the Piazza of
the Commission's Berlaymont building.
[05] First estimate for the second quarter of 2006 : Euro area employment
up by 0.4% and EU25 up by 0.3% ; +1.2% in both zones compared to the second
quarter of 2005
According to provisional national accounts estimates by Eurostat, the
seasonally adjusted number of persons employed in the euro area rose by
0.4% (557,000 persons) during the second quarter of 2006. During the same
period, the number of persons employed in the EU25 grew by 0.3% (702,000
persons). In the first quarter of 2006, growth rates were +0.3% in both the
euro area and the EU25. Compared to the same quarter of the previous year,
employment grew by 1.2% in both the euro area and the EU25 in the second
quarter of 2006, after +1.0% in both zones in the first quarter of 2006.
Eurostat estimates that, in the second quarter of 2006, 139.0 million men
and women were employed in the euro area and 204.1 million in the EU25.
These figures are seasonally adjusted. In this publication Eurostat,
releases quarterly data on employment based on national accounts data.
These figures are calculated within the same conceptual framework as other
national accounts variables, such as GDP, output and compensation of
employees. They provide a picture of labour input consistent with the
output measures of national accounts.
[06] Second trimestre 2006 par rapport au second trimestre 2005 : les
coûts de la main-d'œuvre ont augmenté de 2,4% dans la zone euro ; hausse
de 3,1% dans l'UE25
Le coût horaire total de la main-d'Å“uvre dans la zone euro a augmenté Ã
un rythme annuel de 2,4% en termes nominaux au second trimestre 2006,
contre 2,2% au trimestre précédent. Dans l'UE25, la hausse annuelle a
été de 3,1% au second trimestre 2006, contre 3,0% au trimestre
précédent. Les deux principales composantes des coûts salariaux sont les
salaires et traitements, et les coûts non salariaux. Dans la zone euro,
les salaires et traitements ont augmenté à un taux annuel de 2,4% au
second trimestre 2006 et les coûts non salariaux à un taux de 1,9%, contre
respectivement 2,5% et 1,1% au premier trimestre 2006. Dans l'UE25, les
salaires et traitements ont connu une hausse de 3,2% au second trimestre
2006, et les coûts non salariaux de 2,5%. Au trimestre précédent, les
taux correspondants étaient de 3,3% et 1,7%. La ventilation par activité
économique montre que, dans la zone euro, les coûts horaires de la main-
d'œuvre ont progressé au second trimestre 2006 à un taux annuel de 3,0%
dans l'industrie, de 0,7% dans la construction et de 2,2% dans les
services. Dans l'UE25, ils ont augmenté de 3,3% dans l'industrie, de 1,9%
dans la construction et de 3,0% dans les services. Ces données sont
publiées par Eurostat.
[07] Commission launches new report on Rural Development policy
The European Commission today published a new report which aims to provide,
on a regular basis, comprehensive information on rural areas and the
implementation of the European Union's Rural Development policy. The report
provides, at national and regional levels, statistical and economic
information covering the three objectives of Rural Development policy 2007-
2013 : improving the competitiveness of agriculture and forestry; improving
the environment and the countryside ; improving the quality of life in
rural areas and encouraging diversification of economic activity. It also
gives an overview of Rural Development policy for the period 2000-2006. The
report contains statistical and scientific information on the main features
of rural areas and administrative information on the status of the
implementation of Rural Development policy. It can be found at the
