[01] Emploi dans l'UE : l'influence des enfants sur le travail des femmes
varie d'un Etat membre à l'autre ; les ménages où les deux partenaires
travaillent constituent le modèle dominant
Selon un rapport publié aujourd'hui par Eurostat, parmi les ménages de deux
personnes en âge de travailler interrogés dans l'UE, dans lesquels au moins
un des partenaires travaille, la situation la plus courante est que les
deux partenaires aient un emploi. Dans tous les Etats membres pour lesquels
des données sont disponibles, l'importance relative des couples où les deux
partenaires travaillent n'a cessé de s'accroître depuis 1992. Les couples
où les deux partenaires travaillent sont moins courants en Grèce, en
Espagne et au Portugal.
[02] Commission clears RWE's purchase of UK power company Innogy
The European Commission has granted regulatory approval to the proposed
acquisition by Germany's RWE AG of Innogy Holdings plc. Innogy is one of
the UK's largest electricity generators and the largest UK electricity
supplier, both markets where RWE has presently only a small presence .
[03] Pakistan : Commission adopts framework for cooperation (Country
Strategy Paper)
On 21 May 2002, the European Commission adopted a five year strategy (2002-
2006) for its cooperation with Pakistan. The Country Strategy Paper
provides the framework for relations with Pakistan, covering all aspects of
assistance towards that country. The chief objective is support for
government efforts to reduce poverty and help to facilitate the country's
integration into the world economy. An indicative figure of €165 million
has been agreed to support this strategy during the period 2002-2006.
