[01] EU wins WTO subsidies panel against US duties on British Steel
The European Commission welcomes the successful outcome of a WTO panel it
had initiated against the United States concerning allegedly illegal
countervailing duties imposed on British Steel plc, now CORUS plc. The WTO
Panel confirmed all the main arguments put forward by the European Union.
It concluded that by imposing countervailing duties on British Steel the
United States had breached the WTO Subsidies Agreement.
