  • [01] Commission approves joint venture of Knorr-Bremse and Rexroth (both Germany)

The European Commission has approved the creation of a joint venture in the supply industry for track vehicles by the German companies Knorr-Bremse Systeme für Schienenfahrzeuge GmbH, Munich, and Rexroth Mecman GmbH, Hannover, belonging to the Mannesmann group. Knorr-Bremse is the leading supplier of brakes for track vehicles in the European Economic Area (EEA). Rexroth on the other hand is a small player in this field producing but a limited product range itself. Due to the minor increase in market shares, the transaction does not raise any competition concerns on any of the examined product markets.
