[A] TURKISH CYPRIOT / TURKISH PRESS[01] Turkish Cypriot advisor claims that Eide's document not an UN documentIllegal Bayrak (12.06.17) broadcast that the "advisor on diplomacy and EU affairs" of the Tuirkish Cypriot leader Erhan Ercin made evaluations regarding preparations that are taking place for the upcoming Geneva conference.According to a statement released by the "presidential press office", Ercin alleged that the Greek Cypriot side also needed to focus on contributing to the Cyprus negotiation process that will continue on the 28th of June in Geneva and will continue where they had left off previously. Referring to the document that the UN Secretary General's Special Adviser for Cyprus Espen Barth Eide is working to prepare, Ercin said that the aim of that document is to configure the working proceedings that will take place at the conference at the end of this month. "These documents are not UN documents that reveal a parties position at the negotiations. It's a document that will determine the guidelines of the working systematic that will begin on the 28th of June. The place where the core issues of the subjects will be taken up is the Geneva conference and as previously announced this document will only be a guideline for how the conference will be conducted" Ercin alleged. [02] A debate in the "assembly" for the "extension contract" of the occupied airport of TymmouUnder the title "A debate on Ercan (occupied airport of Tymbou)", Turkish Cypriot daily Kibris newspaper (13.06.17) reports that the issue regarding the "extension contract" for the occupied airport of Tymbou for four more years was discussed yesterday at the "assembly" of the breakaway regime in the occupied area of Cyprus. The opposition asked from the "government" an announcement. There was a stir in the "assembly" regarding the issue; even "members of the government" came against with each other. The paper writes that two "ministers" came in a face-to-face clash regarding the "extension contract" of the occupied airport of Tymbou. The self-styled minister of public works and transports Kemal Durust argued that "there is not any wrongful act and the government backs the decision". On the other hand, the self-styled minister of foreign affairs Tahsin Ertugruloglu reacted to the position that the "government" supports the decision by criticizing harshly the "contract" and the company T&T. Ertugruloglu accused the company of being insincere. He added that it has never been prevented for doing any works and it has not made any investments yet. He further argued: "I am not sure whether this company has paid the money that had to pay to the state. Ercan (occupied airport of Tymbou ) does not go through a health inspection". He concluded by saying that it was wrong to give to this company the "contract" and that there are many more successful companies in Turkey. (DPs) [03] "Caner Gonyeli Search and Rescue Exercise" started yesterdayIllegal Bayrak (12.06.17) broadcast that the "Martyr Lieutenant Caner Gonyeli 2017 Search and Rescue Exercise" started yesterday and will continue until the 15th of June. The exercise will be conducted in the occupied Saint Hilarion area, in the Eastern Mediterranean off the coast of occupied Famagusta, "on land and territorial waters of the TRNC as well as Turkey's search and rescue area", Bayrak broadcast. [04] The order for the assassination of the Russian Ambassador to Ankara came from the occupied area of Cyprus, Sabah claimsTurkish daily Sabah newspaper (online, 12.06.17) claimed that according to Ankara Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor, who investigates the murder of the Russian Ambassador Andrei Karlov, the off-duty officer named Mevlut Mert Altintas took the "green light" for the assassination from the 5 FETO "big brothers" when they met in a hotel in the occupied area of the Republic of Cyprus. The paper also argues that a list including the five names of the "5 FETO big brothers" has been prepared and one of them is a university academician who lives in the occupied area of Cyprus.According to the paper, before going to the hotel to take the order for the assassination, Altintas had a phone conversation with them through "Facetime". (DPs) [05] Turkish Cypriot daily argues that questions arise regarding the no-result investigation about FETO in the breakaway regimeUnder the title: "Why the FETO investigations are not progressing?", Turkish Cypriot daily Ozgur Volkan newspaper (13.06.17) argues that questions arise regarding the fact that the investigations about FETO activities in the breakaway regime following the 15 July coup in Turkey had no results. The paper argues that despite the many-page testimonies taken by "police and other officials", no arrests took place. In addition, the Turkish government sent to the so-called government a list of 114 persons who consist of "bureaucrats, important businessmen and some institution officials" of the breakaway regime who appeared to have connections with FETO. However no action was taken on this issue either. In addition, a "police official" had a 15 million Turkish lira account in a bank, the paper writes. Because of this, the Turkish government is sending a second letter to the "government" asking why the investigations on the issue have not started yet, the paper claims. (CS) [06] TUSIAD: Turkey needs to stick to EU process, reform agendaTurkey should stick to its European Union process in economic, security and democratization terms, Turkish Industry and Business Association (TUSIAD) President Erol Bilecik stated at a meeting jointly held by the association and the World Bank's Turkey office, while also reiterating the organization's call for the launch of a comprehensive structural reform package."Turkey has started to see a key improvement in its economic indicators after a tough year. A rebound in economic growth in the EU has pushed up demand for Turkey's exports. Finally we have started to witness the positive contribution of exports, which is mainly fuelled by a rising demand from the EU," said Bilecik. He noted that the EU, which is Turkey's largest market, is of great significance for the country in terms of democratic values, economic ties and security dimensions. "We need to maintain our dialogue and cooperation with our international allies in line with our national interests, even if we do not always agree on everything. Some recent tensions may have even put some strain on our economic relations. The maintenance of our EU perspective and the strengthening of our economic ties through a planned revision in our Customs Union deal will be of one of the most crucial issues for Turkey," Bilecik said in the meeting of the launch of the World Bank's Global Economic Prospects Report June 2017 report. He said Turkey needs to launch a comprehensive reform package, which mainly covers three main areas. These three areas cover reforms for the maintenance of democratization, freedoms and the rule of law, giving a boost to Turkey's EU process, the customs union modernization and the focus on digital transformation and high technologies, he reiterated. "We cannot regress in our democratic acquisitions, namely in freedoms and the rule of law. This possibility would hit our economic gains. Any economic gain cannot be sustainable without democratic progress," he said. He further added that Turkey has already allocated a fund which is around 100 million TL for irrigated farming and explained that within this year they will go on tenders and launch a project. "The majority of these companies, after completing the work do not pay the local companies", Curcafer said, adding that these firms own to Turkish Cypriot contractors until today the amount of 10 million TL.
