    [01] Turkish Minister of Transport is to visit the occupied area

    According to KIBRIS newspaper (11.07.03), the Turkish Minister of Transport, Binali Yildirim is to arrive to the occupied area today for series of contacts.

    Yildirim and the delegation accompanying him , will meet the Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktas, so-called prime minister of the pseudo state Eroglu and will hold talks at the so-called Ministry of Works and Transport of the pseudo state.

    KIBRIS reports that Yildirim^Òs return to Turkey was left open.

    [02] Denktas meets British Foreign Office Official

    According to KIBRIS newspaper (11.07.03), the Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktas, had a meeting yesterday with Mr Dominic Chilcott, Head of the Mediterranean Desk at the British Foreign Office.

    Present at the meeting were Denktas^Ò advisor Ergun Olgun, British High Commissioner to Cyprus Lyn Parker and others.

    At the end of the meeting there was no statement to the press.

    [03] Turkish Cypriot Journalists Union demands apology from Denktas

    According to KIBRIS newspaper (11.07.03), on the occasion of the ^ÓTurkish Cypriot Press Day^Ô the Turkish Cypriot Journalists Union made a statement and strongly criticized Denktas for his allegations that ^ÓAlmost all the Turkish Cypriot newspapers were sold out and day in day out they continue to repeat the same lies^Ô

    The Union in its written statement strongly criticizes the Turkish Cypriot leader and invites him to review his policies and make a self criticism.

    The Union demands an apology from Denktas for his allegations.

    [04] The Republican Turkish Party started its campaign for the forthcoming elections

    Turkish Cypriot daily newspaper KIBRIS (11.07.03) reports that the Republican Turkish Party (RTP) held a meeting yesterday evening in which the Party started its campaign for the forthcoming ^Óelections^Ô to be held in December, in the occupied area.

    As the paper reports during the meeting the Party decided to introduce some provisional amendments in the party´s rules and regulations. According to one of these changes, the name of the Party was changed to the ^ÓRepublican Turkish Party-United Forces^Ô.

    According to this new arrangement, the RTP delegates that decided candidates, in the districts have transferred their power to the Party´s Central Admionistration Committee, and Party´s ^ÓParliamentary^Ô group.

    During the meeting, which was held under the slogan ^ÓFor a news Cyprus^Ô, four important draft decisions were approved. According to these decisions, the party wants to get the majority in the so-called ^Óassembly^Ô. Moreover, wishes to co-operate and be in solidarity during the election campaign with the friendly forces and gain together with these forces the majority in the ^Óassembly^Ô. In addition the Party called on the Greek Cypriots to fight for a new Cyprus and finally declared that the Turkish Cypriots along with the people of Turkey shared the same interests.

    Speaking at the meeting Mr Mehmet Ali Talat, the leader of the RTP, stated that everyone must create a new Cyprus and that all the Turkish Cypriots will succeed in this by supporting the RTP. Mr Talat also stated that he has no problem with the forces that share the same views with his party, because, as he said: ^ÓWe have no struggle with our friends, with them together we will reach to our target^Ô.
