[06] Yeniduzen says Turkey manipulates the occupied areas of Cyprus in the field of education as wellUnder the banner front-page title "Scandal!" "Yeniduzen" (5.2.02) reports that Turkey's Supreme Education Council (YOK) has forbidden the illegal universities in the occupied areas of Cyprus to educate advocates and teachers. However, it had no objection to permit new universities from Turkey to open branches in northern Cyprus."First, our hotels have been put up for sale and were given to the service of 'the big hoteliers' from Turkey", writes the paper adding that after that the gambling houses were moved into the occupied areas of Cyprus. "After that our banks went bankrupt and a lot of money were transferred into banks of Turkish mainland origin", reports "Yeniduzen" noting that now is the turn of the illegal universities to be put under the control of the mainland Turks. Furthermore, "Yeniduzen" writes the following: "The Technical University of Kyrenia, which the Republic of Turkey plans to establish in Kyrenia has answered the question regarding the reasons for which YOK causes problems to the Turkish Cypriot universities. After the Near East University the American University of Kyrenia (GAU) is protesting as well!... ". According to the paper, in a letter sent to "officials" of the pseudogovernment and the pseudostate, the administration of the "GAU" are strongly against the initiative of establishing the so-called "Technical University of Kyrenia", which will be the eighth in such a small place as the occupied areas of Cyprus. The administration of "GAU" notes also that the new "university" will have the same faculties and a similar name as their own "university" and described this development as "unjust competition". The paper supports also that the illegal universities are being forced to collapse, underlining that only the so-called "Eastern Mediterranean University" (DAU) is not complaining over the situation. In a campaign in the United Arab Emirates, the above - mentioned "institution", with an announcement published in the Arabic language, has declared itself as the only recognized "university" of the pseudostate.
