[A] NEWS ITEMS[01] Turkey to open rescue stations along occupied coastsAnatolia Agency (15:10 hours, 30.5.00) reports that Ramazan Mirzaoglu, Turkish State Minister, said on Tuesday that they would open Search and Rescue Stations in coasts of the occupied area next year.Mirzaoglu on Monday paid a visit to "TRNC" to open the so-called Representation of the Turkish Institute of Standards (TSE), and returned to Turkey. The State Ministry issued a statement, saying that Mirzaoglu, during his contacts, had stated that they hoped they would get results from their works in the field of maritime in the near future. Mirzaoglu stressed that Search and Rescue (SAR) stations would be opened on the occupied area/s shores in 2001, contributing to safety of lives, properties and region. [02] Paper says money from occupied area are deposited in banks in free areasHURRIYET KIBRIS (31.5.00) reports under the banner headlines "Shocking claim" and says that money withdrawn from the banks in the occupied area have been deposited in the banks operating in the free areas.HURRIYET KIBRIS adds that the money is being transferred to the free areas via Pyla village. The paper further reports that people continue to withdraw their deposits, because they consider the measures taken by the so-called government not reliable. [03] Gurel in the occupied areaAccording to KIBRIS (31.5.0), Turkish State Minister Responsible for Cyprus Affairs, Sukru Sina Gurel, is to arrive in the occupied area to take part in the consultative meetings of the "Citizens Living Abroad" at the occupied Salamis Bay Conti Resort Hotel.The meeting is organized by Turkey. Around hundred people, among them Turkish MPs, will take part.
