[01] T/C PARTICIPATION IN DANCE FESTIVAL

Dance groups from France, Sweden, Italy, Germany, Croatia, England, Romania and Armenia participated in the festival.

[02] AKINCI IN NORWAY

Replying to a reporter´s question, Akinci said that he goes to Norway as the official guest of Norway´s Labour Party leader Thorbjorn Jagland and he´ll have contacts with Norwegian state officials.

[03] TURKISH FOREIGN MINISTRY CONDEMNS ATTACK ON HALA SULTAN

A statement issued by the Foreign Ministry expressed great regret over the damage caused to the mosque after an unknown organization called ``Pan- Cyprus Struggles Organization'' set fire to the mosque.

The statement further said that the pseudostate´s so-called officials lunched initiatives vis-a-vis the United Nations as soon as they heard about the fire and urged that the perpetrators of the attack against the holy site be apprehended as soon as possible and receive their due sentence.

[04] DENKTASH MAY VETO NEW ``BILL'' ON MILITARY SERVICE

Political circles who evaluated Denktash´ sstatement said that ``Denktash, who is a supporter of the reduction of military service to 18 months, will use his veto over the military bill''.

[05] COMPANY WITH SWISS INTERESTS AT OCCUPIED TYMBOU AIRPORT

The Turkish company ``Havas'' has branches in 14 destinations besides Turkey. Turgay Kuttas visited the ``director'' of the so-called Turkish Cyprus Airlines Zeki Ziya, who briefed him on the services provided at the occupied airport of Tymbou.

The ``Havas'' company provides services for fuel planning, desks for ticket- selling at the airports, cabin cleaning and lost items.

Turgay Kuttas said that ``Havas'' operates in nine airports in Turkey and in 14 other countries adding that the so-called Turkish Cyprus Airlines is one of the companies that use their services.

[06] FOREIGN GROUPS TO ADMINISTER ``INTERNATIONAL AMERICAN UNIVERSITY''

The working permission of ``IAU'' for the academic year 1999 - 2000 has been cancelled since 23 June by the High Educational Commission of Turkey.

To be able to begin work the groups must take a positive decision from Turkey´s High Administrative Court on 17th September.

If the decision of the Court is positive then the protocol which has already been signed among the President of Groupe TECCART, the Director of IPEM Formation Noveau Brunswick and the Administrative Committee of ``IAU'' will be put into force.

The aim of the protocol is to apply the academic standards of Canadian and French Universities at ``IAU'' in the technological, computer and network systems fields.

[07] TURKISH CYPRIOT REACTION TO TEKKE ARSON ATTEMPT

He said that files ae being prepared which will be sent to the World Council of Churches, UNESCO, World Islamic Conferences, International NGO´s and the UN Secretariat.

Taner Dermish alleged that the condemnations made after the attack by the Greek Cypriot leaders were not sincere.

He insisted that the ``Greek Cypriot administration''should apologize to the ``TRNC people''.

The so-called state minister and deputy prime minister, Mustafa Akinci, condemned the attack and urged the officials to apprehend the culprits and bring them to justice.

Warning that attacks against holy places will fan the feelings of hatred between the two communities and will negatively effect the peace process, Akinci said that the attack is an unacceptable thing when the restoration of the Apostolos Andreas Monastery and the Tekke is on the agenda.

In its turn, the so-called foreign affairs and defence ministry in a written statement condemned the attack and called an the Cyprus government to aprehend the culprits.

The statement alleged that Government Spokesman Michalis Papapetrou is trying to cover up the attack by claiming that it is the work of provocators.

It also accused the Cyprus government of not taking enough measures to protect the Turkish cultural heritage in the free areas.
