[01] Apostolides' car auctioned-himself to be set free

According to KIBRIS (19.1.96), the four-wheel drive Mitsubishi Pajero belonging to Ioannis Apostolides has been illegally auctioned in the occupied area by the occupation regime.

The car was sold for 1,88,457, 040 TL, the exact amount of money the so-called military court imposed on Apostolides as a fine.

KIBRIS adds that the money has been deposited in the account of the Tukrish Occupation Forces.

KIBRIS further reports that as the imposed fine is thus paid and Apostolides has served his 45 days of illegal imprisonment, he will be set free today. (MY)

According to KIBRIS (19.1.96), the Nationalist Justice Party (NJP) in the occupied area has expressed support to the Chechen armed men and criticized the Russian stance against the Chechens.

The deputy leader of the NJP, Dogan Ercug, in a statement yesterday accused the US, the EU and the UN of extending support to Russia in its military campaign against the Chechens. (MY)
