Cyprus PIO: Consumer Price Index For The Month Of September, 1996

The Department of Statistics and Research announces that the Consumer
Price Index for September, 1996 increased by 1,97 units or 1,72 percent
and reached 116,81 units compared to 114,84 in the previous month. This
is mainly due to increases in the prices of clothing, footwear and
furniture following the end of the summer season sales as well as to
increases in the prices of certain fresh vegetables, potatoes, tuition
fees of private schools and part-time coaching centres.
