[01] Talks on Cyprus enter fifth round

The direct talks on the Cyprus problem entered the fifth round yesterday afternoon, with another meeting between the President of the Republic Mr Glafcos Clerides and the Turkish Cypriot leader Mr Rauf Denktash, in the presence of the UN Secretary-General's Special Adviser on Cyprus Mr Alvaro de Soto. Present at the talks were the members of each side's delegation.

The regular meetings between the President and Mr Denktash are taking place under the aegis of the United Nations in the framework of direct talks for finding a solution to the Cyprus problem.

[02] Cyprus and Moldova sign Aviation Agreement

Cyprus and Moldova signed on 15 July an aviation agreement to enhance cooperation between the two countries in air transports.

The agreement provides the framework for further cooperation between the two countries in the field of air transport and opens new perspectives for closer cooperation between Cyprus and Moldova.

The agreement was signed in Kishinev, Moldova by the Minister of Communications and Works Mr Averof Neophytou on behalf of Cyprus and by the corresponding authorities of Moldova.
