Replying to a question on the possibility of an agreement being reached between President Glafcos Clerides and the Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash by June, Mr Bandler expressed the hope that an agreement would be reached within the framework that had been set. [02] UN Secretary-General to review progress on CyprusThe UN Secretary General Mr Kofi Annan will review the progress in the Cyprus talks during the first week in April, the UN Associate Spokesman for the UN Secretary General in New York, announced yesterday.The announcement stated the following: "The Secretary-General will be reviewing progress in the Cyprus talks in the first week of April, which is approximately the mid-point between the start of direct talks between the Cypriot leaders in January and the June target for significant progress on the issue. The Secretary-General's Special Adviser on Cyprus, Alvaro de Soto, will come to New York to review progress with the Secretary-General, after first visiting Ankara and Athens for consultations, on, respectively, March 28 and 29. While he is here in New York, de Soto will brief the members of the Security Council". [03] Census of Population, 2001The Statistic Service has announced that it has issued the report "Census of Population 2001, Preliminary Population data by District, Municipality and Community".The publication provides preliminary data of the housing units, households, institutions and population enumerated in the Census by district, municipality, community and quarter. The report is available for sale at the Government Printing Office at 2.00 Cyprus pounds per copy, while the data are available also on the website of the Statistical Service (www.pio.gov.cy/dsr).
