These savage deeds were attacks against freedom and serve as a warning to all civilized people. Freedom was attacked, but freedom will be defended. The values and determinations of our peoples are crucial to rooting out terrorism across the globe. I look forward to working with you to meet this difficult challenge. The struggle may be a long one, but we draw strength and resolve from your solidarity and support". [02] Cyprus and Slovakia sign cooperation protocolCyprus and Slovakia signed yesterday a cooperation protocol aimed at developing their bilateral relations and further enhancing their existing cooperation in the fields of trade, industry, investment, transport, agriculture, science, technology, law and security.Minister of Finance Mr Takis Clerides and Slovak Deputy Minister of Economy Mr Peter Brno signed the protocol, on behalf of their respective countries, at the end of the first session of the Cyprus - Slovakia Joint Committee on Economic, Scientific, Technical and Industrial Cooperation. In a statement after signing the protocol, Mr Klerides referred to the existing good cooperation and friendly relations between Cyprus and Slovakia and underlined that the protocol offers the framework for expanding cooperation in new fields. For his part the Slovak Deputy Minister of Economy expressed his country's wish to promote, in the best possible way, economic, trade, industrial and other relations with Cyprus.
