[01] Dutch Foreign Minister says there are no preconditions for Cyprus' EU
entry
Dutch Foreign Minister Mr. Van Aartsen, has said that everyone knows of the
great progress that Cyprus has achieved in the economic field and in its
accession negotiations with the European Union in particular, and it would
not be right if in the final stages Cyprus were told that it could not
join.
Mr Van Aartsen was speaking at a meeting with Cypriot MP Mr Panayiotis
Dimitriou on the sidelines of the 47th Parliamentary Assembly of the West
European Union.
He added that there are no preconditions for a solution to the Cyprus
problem being found before accession.
[02] Slovak contingent takes over from departing Austrians and Slovenians
in Famagusta
A change of command ceremony was held in Famagusta to mark the handing over
of command of UNFICYP's sector 4 from the Austrian Hungarian Slovenian
Battalion (UNAHSB) to Slovakian Hungarian Battalion (UNSHB).
