[01] Foreign Minister has meetings in Jordan
Cyprus Foreign Minister Mr Ioannis Kasoulides, who is currently on an
official visit to Jordan, had a working meeting in Amman yesterday with his
Jordanian counterpart Mr Abdul Ilah al-Khatib.
During the meeting, the two ministers discussed bilateral relations between
the two countries in the framework of their traditional friendship and
cooperation, international issues of common interest such as the peace
process in the Middle East and the latest developments in the Cyprus
problem. They also ascertained the excellent cooperation, relations and
mutual understanding between their two countries.
Mr Kasoulides was also received by the Speaker of the Jordanian House of
Representatives, A' Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Minister, with whom
he signed the documents ratifying an agreement between Cyprus and Jordan
for the exchange of convicts. Later he met with the Jordanian Prime
Minister and the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of
Representatives.
