[01] Cyprus has introduced strict anti-money laundering laws
Cyprus has introduced and enforces strict laws and regulations to combat
and prevent illegal money laundering, the Central Bank of Cyprus stressed
on Friday.
Reacting to a recent White House report on organised crime, "International
Crime Threat Assessment Report", in which reference is also made to Cyprus,
the Bank said that the measures that have been taken in Cyprus have
repeatedly been examined and assessed by international organisations such
as the Council of Europe and the Financial Action Task Force on Money
Laundering, and have been found to be fully in line with international
standards in this field.
