[01] Cyprus ambassador presents credentials to Uruguay
Cyprus Ambassador Athina Mavronikola has presented her credentials to the
President of Uruguay, Mr Jorge Batlle.
At a meeting after the ceremony Ms Mavronikola briefed Mr Battle on the
latest developments in the Cyprus problem and on the course of the island's
negotiations for entry into the EU.
The Uruguay President reiterated his country's solidarity with Cyprus and
expressed support for a peaceful solution to the problem on the basis of UN
resolutions.
