In a speech, Health Minister Frixos Savvides pointed out that "for Cyprus, which does not have a medical school, telemedicine is of great significance and an important factor in efforts to improve health services". He expressed certainty that "with the help of telemedicine, many incidents will be diagnosed and treated in Cyprus". The conference was also attended by Greek Health Minister Alecos Papadopoulos, who said that telemedicine has saved many lives in isolated areas of the country.
