[01] Cyprus and the Czech Republic to enhance financial co-operation
The Minister of Finance Mr Takis Clerides had a meeting on Saturday with
his Czech counterpart Mr Ivo Svoboda and other members of the official
delegation accompanying the Minister during his visit to Cyprus.
Speaking to the Press afterwards, Mr Clerides said that the meeting focused
on matters relating to the ministries of the two countries and in
particular on the signing of an agreement for the protection of investments
and the avoidance of double taxation between Cyprus and the Czech
Republic.
The two Ministers reconfirmed that they would continue their mutual support
and co-operation towards achieving their common aim for EU accession by
2003.
