[01] Interior Minister resigns
Cyprus' Minister of the Interior, Dinos Michaelides, today announced his
decision to submit his resignation in writing to President Glafcos Clerides
by tomorrow.
Speaking to the press outside the Presidential Palace, Mr Michaelides said
that while he had been vindicated by the institutional procedures, he felt
the move was necessary as a political act to protect the President.
