[01] Cyprus ratifies convention on copyright law
The Permanent Representative of Cyprus to the Council of Europe Mrs Thalia
Petrides, presented the Secretary General of the Council of Europe Mr
Daniel Tarschys yesterday with the ratifying document of the European
Convention relating to Questions on Copyright Law and Neighbouring Rights
in the Framework of Transfrontier Broadcasting by Satellite.
The Convention intends to safeguard the rights and interests of authors
(and other contributors) as regard their works (contributions) broadcasted
by satellite.
The convention has been ratified by Norway, and has been signed by Belgium,
Germany, Luxembourg, San Marino, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
It has also been signed by the European Union.
