[01] House President begins official visit to Iran

President of the House of Representatives Demetris Syllouris begins on Sunday a three-day official visit to Iran at the invitation of the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ali Ardeshir Larijani.

Syllouris will be received by the President of Iran Hassan Rouhani and the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, who will host a dinner in his honour.

During the meeting with Larijani, the Chairman and Members of the Committee for Foreign Policy and National Security of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran will also be present.

[02] National Council convenes ahead of Mont Pelerin UN-led peace talks

ิhe National Council, the top advisory body to the President of the Republic on the Cyprus issue, convenes on Sunday ahead of the UN-led peace talks at Mont Pelerin, in Switzerland, between 7-11 November, concentrating on the territorial aspect of the problem.

The leaders of the parliamentary parties, comprising the National Council, will be briefed by President Nicos Anastasiades on the latest developments in the ongoing negotiations. The Council is expected to decide if party leaders will accompany the President to Switzerland.
