[01] Business investment rate and household savings rate rise in Q2 2016 in the euro area

Business investment rate was 22.2% in the euro area in the second quarter of 2016, compared with 22.1% in the previous quarter. The business profit share in the euro area was 40.6% in the second quarter of 2016, compared with 40.5% in the first quarter of 2016.

Meanwhile, the household saving rate in the euro area was 12.8% in the second quarter of 2016, compared with 12.6% in the first quarter of 2016. The household investment rate in the euro area was 8.6% in the second quarter of 2016, compared with 8.4% in the previous quarter.

Both figures on Business and households come from a first release of seasonally adjusted quarterly European sector accounts from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union and the European Central Bank (ECB).
