A solution to the Cyprus problem will contribute to the growth of relations between Greece and Turkey, between EU and Turkey and between NATO and EU, President Nicos Anastasiades has said.

In a long speech during a lunch with the Cyprus Union of Shipowners in Athens, the President made references to the current state of play in the Cyprus peace talks, the financial situation as well as about the prospects after the discovery of hydrocarbon reserves in the island`s exclusive economic zone.

He pointed out that Cyprus, through hard work, patience, perseverance and sacrifices has managed to implement brave reforms and has left behind one of the most difficult periods in its modern history.

[02] Ambassador of Cyprus to Vietnam presents his credentials

Cyprus Ambassador to Vietnam Demetrios Theophylactou presented on Saturday his credentials to the President Tran Dai Quang.

According to a press release issued on Monday, the President and the Ambassador had a private meeting following the credentials` ceremony during which they discussed bilateral relations and ways to further strengthen cooperation in the economic and commercial sector as well as the contacts in a civil society level.

The President of Vietnam sent cordial greetings to the President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades as well as the people of Cyprus for health and prosperity and invited the President to pay an official visit to Vietnam.
