[01] Holocaust survivor recalls experiences before students` gathering
Greek Jew holocaust survivor, Daniel Misan, shared his experiences on
Thursday during a gathering of secondary school students in Nicosia.
He spoke to the audience about growing up in Corfu during World War II
when Nazis were persecuting Jews, about his escape from Greece, his stay
at a British camp in Cyprus and reuniting with his family in Palestine.
Speaking before the gathering, organized in the framework of the cultural
and educational cooperation between Cyprus and Israel, Misan said German
soldiers went to Corfu where he lived with his family in September 1943
and in June the next year, captured the Jews living on the island.
