[01] Agriculture Minister announces efforts to reduce product cost
for farmers
Efforts to diminish the product cost for farmers, including the reduce
of electricity, water and grain will begin in 2014, Agriculture Minister
Nicos Kouyialis said on Sunday.
Speaking to the press the Minister said that the year 2014 will include
a lot of reforms in the area of agriculture economy but it will also
mark the efforts to reform the public sector in Cyprus.
Kouyialis admitted that it is going to be a difficult year, adding
that in a couple of months the project for agriculture development will
be ready and that the government will reexamine the structure of some
semi-governmental organizations that deal with the agriculture sector
such as the Cyprus Grain Commission and the Cyprus Agricultural Payments
Organization .
